Today I made the bed with an attitude of mind that I'd never made the bed before. I took notice of our summer quilt with its grandmother-sewn flowers, pink unnatural daisies with satin-stitched petals and feather-stitched leaves. It is a well-preserved bedcovering, happy in a 1970's way.
