"The gift leaves all boundary and circles into mystery.
The passage into mystery always refreshes. If, when we work, we can look once a day upon the face of mystery, then our labor satisifies." --Lewis Hyde, The Gift
I am studying this book like a map in the wilderness - a wasteland I must journey through as an artist and creator. It is freeing to understand that our writing is a gift to the world. It doesn't inherently carry a price tag. Yet this is also a stymying reality as we navigate life in a market-driven society.
I just found you through someone else's blog. I can't remember who but I wanted to say I really am enjoying your posts. I've added you to my list of favorite writing blogs...
