Laundry Day

by Randy MacLean

Don't trip over it.
Cardboard in rectangular shapes
five sides bound together
holding unmentionables
I will mention them
boxer shorts, stinky socks
mostly blues, browns, and greens
and a few black
Old T-shirts -- sorta frayed
but still my favorites
And wild colored tank tops worn to bed
bought at a Mervyn's sale

Soon they'll take a dizzying bath together
and suffer the round and round heat

And then we'll do it again.

Another ordinary thing, made new and interesting by the willingness of a writer to visit the topic. Your turn to write about a mundane task, as we explore the glory of chores.
