My, How You've Shrunk!

In an old journal entry of mine, I was grappling with writing some sad memories. Then--hey! I got an idea and wrote: "Maybe I can switch that around: write about the future instead of the past."

Then again, what if the future was the past? What if life ran backwards?

What if guests arrived for dinner and found you to be losing ten years an hour? The conversation might be: "The stroganoff is lovely! But you made the bean salad, and now you're calling it 'gross'? Do you mind not flinging your mashed potatoes quite so close to my chair? Here, let me get you a booster seat."

Write a scene in which the characters grow younger or time moves backwards.

  1. Have you ever read "Einstein's Dreams" by Alan Lightman?
