Today's ordinary thing.
Friendly, creaky, hinged. You see it in cartoons, pinching noses to protect against - phewy! - smells. It recalls long-limbed garments swinging from a breeze-blown clothesline, and the old, gray concrete of laundromat floors and utility rooms.
Hold one in your hand; pinch it open. What story does it tell?
