Today's ordinary thing is the lampshade. Without it, light bulbs would be bald. Lamps would shiver, naked. Lampshades come in paper, wood, cloth, stained glass, myriads of colors and shapes. They may have ribbons, pleats or tassles. And they have multiple uses. A friend of mine tells stories of her dad, a funny guy who would stick a lampshade on his head before heading out to be the life of the party.
Write about lampshades. Ten minutes of whatever pops into your head. Go.
