What delights us as readers is also what delights us as writers. We love the unexpected. It's so disappointing knowing what's coming in a book or a movie, recognizing a plot line. Our challenge is to find the fresh.
Even in a fairy tale, you can make an unexpected journey. I sought to do this in my story, "Figgy," for this month's Absent Willow Review.
